These are the documents we were working from in class today during extension time. It follows on from our research and brainstorming session over what makes an engaging and interesting information report.
We looked in class at creating a report about ourselves.
This first document is not really a template - it's more our refined brainstorming from today but I have attached it anyway as some people found it helpful.
This next document is the example we wrote together in class. It is a simple, but structurally accurate information report. I would expect you to elaborate even further on some of these details. Note how we have tried to include a range of sentence types, and how the report is written in the third person point of view. Thank you to Oskar for allowing us to use him as our example in class today :)
Finally, here is a link to an information report writing planning template. These are very good for helping you plan out your writing. They are not absolutely necessary, but I find students who use these produce better organised and higher quality pieces of writing.
