Unfortunately there is no Health lesson today as Mrs Phipps is away. We hope she is feeling better soon!
Instead we will do our 'best thing about me' activity.
Yesterday in class we discussed what some of the best things about us were. We spoke about how the older we get sometimes the more difficult it becomes to celebrate ourselves and all the gifts God has provided us with. We completed a writing activity where we talked about the best thing about ourselves, and some people even shared their thoughts with the class.
In today's activity we will take the time to recongise the best things about each other. This is similar to the bucket filling activity we did in term one, so I'm sure everyone will enjoy it. The instructions for the activity are below:
Each students will be handed three pieces of white paper. At the top of each page you must write:
The best thing about me - your name
The best thing about me - Brayden Salvador
This needs to be on each of your three sheets.
Students will pass these sheets along (all together) to the person next to them who will write down the best thing about the person on that sheet. You simply write your comment underneath the comment of the person above you. Do not write on both sides of the sheet (we might be cutting them out later). Only one. That is why you are getting three sheets.
I ask that all students either write in black pen or pencil. No blue pens. This is because when we are finished with our sheets we will use them to form a display of which the theme will be black and white.
Students will have approximately one minute to write the 'best thing' about that person before passing it onto the next person.
Important: Each person should only ever have one person's sheets on their desk. If you do a switch and find you have nothing to write on raise your hand, because it means something has gone wrong!
I will go through the order we pass the sheets but it should be pretty straight forward as the class is now in a nice snake formation.
Normally I would take part in an activity like this too but I will be having a little discussion with Mr Peacock about a few things at the front of the class. However, I will take the time to write on all your sheets sometime today :)
If you have any questions please just raise your hand.
Good luck and start thinking...what are the best things about your classmates?
