Remember you will not be back at school until Wednesday! So ideally you would get all your homework some Monday or Tuesday when you have your days off (that's what I would be doing anyway!)
1. Mathletics - You must complete 2000 points this week. Yes this is a little bit more than normal, but with out 1,000,000 goal so close it would be nice to celebrate it this term rather than next!
2. Persuasive Writing - please see the stimulus below :) You should already have a few ideas from the comprehension activities you did last week :) You can get a copy of the planning template here.
Finally, if you did not complete any of the comprehension activities from last week you have the weekend to complete them. I will be checking first thing on Wednesday.
I have also posted a number of resources on the class blog to do with the addition and subtraction of fractions. I will try send them as a link to you all via google docs too )but it might not work as we are all still learning).
Update: The link is here. It may or may not work haha :)
If this link works you will be directed to a folder called '16 Student Math resources'. In there you will find another folder about fractions and then you can look at the folder with 'like' denominators.
I know it's all very confusing but just have a play and see if it works :) If it doesn't we can work through it Wednesday. Plus, all the resources are already posted on this blog anyway under the posts about adding and subtracting fractions.
If you like, use your long weekend to strengthen your skills in these areas. The hard work you do now will benefit you in the future I promise. It also speaks volumes about your attitude towards your learning if you are prepared to do that little bit extra. I think this quote sums it up pretty well...
That means if you want to improve, if you want to get ahead, if you really want to get ahead...you can't just expect to do the same things as before. Work hard, and you will reap the benefits I promise you :)
